Level 2 Acting Course in Canterbury
Our Level 2 course consists of two terms and you may apply for either. The course you are offered will depend on your experience and spaces available.
- For those who have had previous acting experience or training
- For all ages over 18
Typically includes:
- Experiment with various acting techniques to deepen your craft and confidence
- Learn personal warm-up routines for vocal and physical preparedness.
- Introduction to Monologues
- Devise your own scene from an actor’s perspective
- Develop independence in rehearsing, auditioning, and character-building.
- Explore Uta Hagen, Ken Rea, animal studies, monologues, physical theatre, and Shakespeare

Summary:
The Level 2 course focuses on building independence in performance. You’ll develop techniques for rehearsals, auditions, and character work, creating a personalised toolkit for practice outside class.
You’ll explore various acting styles and practitioners like Uta Hagen and Ken Rea, working with monologues, physical theatre, and classical texts. The course encourages reflection, feedback, and by the end, you’ll confidently apply your skills in performance.
The course concludes with an informal showcase, where you’ll present short scenes in small groups. This final sharing helps manage nerves and celebrates your progress with the TAL community.
